Udaipur accommodation - Fateh Prakash

Fateh Prakash

Originally built as a guest wing for the Maharana of Udaipur’s royal visitors, Fateh Prakash is now the smaller of two authentic palace hotels within the city palace complex. The superb views over Lake Pichola and the Lake Palace are the envy of all. You couldn’t be any more central in the old town either and shops and restaurants are only a short walk away.
The hotel doesn’t have its own swimming pool, but it’s just a couple of minutes stroll through the palace grounds to the sister hotel, Shiv Niwas where you have full use of the additional facilities. Don’t forget to carry your pass card as the Maharana is still in residence (and owns the hotels) and checks are made on anyone trying to access areas not normally open to the visiting public!
