For families or groups of friends looking for a once in a life time experience, few things can compete with sailing from island to island in the Galapagos with your own private yacht.

Because of the long distances involved, the only practical way to explore the Galapagos is by live-aboard boats which travel between islands. The journey is mostly at night and the boat makes different stops each day; usually two landings with plenty of time for swimming and snorkelling.

The importance of size of boat can’t be overstated.  The smaller the boat the more able she is to access the shallow anchorages that the large boats cannot, thus meaning island visits are relatively untroubled by other visitors.  The 12 berth Beagle is a long term favourite of ours.

A rather beautiful 105 foot steel hulled brigantine with teak decks and comfortable interiors, an excellent chef and super guides.  Cabins have a double lower and single upper bed and private shower, wash basin and loo.  The majority of her cruises are one week, either the northwest islands or the south and central – and scattered through the year are two week itineraries visiting both sets of islands.

Diving can be organised and snorkel gear is always on board.  She is ideal for a private charter for a group of friends or a couple of families or booked as a shared charter.
