Walking & more in Nepal

Rustic luxury and a lodge based trek in Nepal's stunning Annapurna Himalaya

It’s our dream to see the Himalayas. We love the outdoors and are fit 50-somthings so hope we can manage a trek in Nepal but there’s no way we can rough it! ”

What we recommended and why

We recommended that that the clients travel in late March, as flowers are coming into bloom, the climate is ideal for walking,  days clear and sunny with views of the spectacular mountains.

After a couple of nights in comfort at a wonderful heritage hotel for exploring Kathmandu we suggested travelling overland towards the mountains and the chance for a couple of trek preparation walks around the traditional little hilltop town of Bandipur and lakeside Pokhara.

A four night trek in the foothills of the Annapurna was suggested, hiking through classic Himalayan scenery that many have in mind when they imagine this great mountain range: terraces of rice, small pretty villages, deep valleys, old trails of stepped paths and jaw-dropping views of snow-capped mountains.

Nights on trek are spent at small comfortable lodges en-route; each cosy room is en-suite with hot showers - quite a luxury in this area!

We recommended a day to relax in true comfort after the trek, before continuing to little visited Gorkha and a rustic lodge at Chitwan in search of rhinoceros.

The trip ended in bucolic luxury at a holistic spa in the hills outside Kathmandu.
