ARRIVAL IN KIRUNA
Arrive at the Swedish Arctic airport of Kiruna. Here you will be met by our team and transferred to the dogsled kennel where lunch awaits. We will then kit you all up in Arctic snowsuits, polar sub-zero rated boots, felt-lined mitts and fur-trimmed headgear before you meet your very own dogs.
After a demonstration of harnessing and running the team, a final kit check, you are off! An approximate 2.5 hour journey through the stunning Arctic wilderness, crossing vast frozen lakes and tributaries and through frosted forests you arrive at your first night’s wilderness camp. You will help your dogs bed-down for the night before enjoying a hot lake sauna and evening meal by candlelight.
After a hearty breakfast you will help hook up the teams and begin the next leg of your expedition. For the next few hours you will travel over 30km on pristine trails towards a remote old Sami homestead. Crossing rivers and hills you will have the opportunity to spot reindeer, ptarmigan and even moose. The snow acts as Nature’s daily telegraph; spotting tracks of snow hare and even lynx and raven as you move into remote wilderness. Travelling gently through this magical winter landscape, leaving only sled tracks and dog pawprints is a wonderful timeless experience.
Camp Two is a stunning old Sami homestead that has been renovated as an expedition base. Here you can unwind together with a cold beer and glass of wine in a traditional lake sauna and enjoy a great meal and warm cosy night.
Further into the wilderness
Following new trails deeper into stunning wilderness towards your last night’s camp. You will make a fire and have hot soup and food on the trail before arriving at our beautiful private luxury Arctic lodge.
A perfect final night with private sauna and hot tub and running water in a beautiful luxury lodge before you enjoy your delicious dinner cooked by your private chef.
After breakfast we can arrange for you all to experience ice fishing or ice carving and then fuelled with hot drinks you will kit up to drive snow machines for the last leg of your Arctic adventure back to the dogsled kennel.
A fond farewell to your trusty team of dogs, repack and then we will transfer you back to Kiruna for homeward bound flights.

Inspiration and Ground Truth
As an artist who works in nature I have been exploring Arctic Lapland for more than twenty years. I am drawn to the Arctic - the space, the light, the forests, the animals, the people and the seasons - the freedom that can only be found in fenceless, roadless pristine wilderness. I have ground-truthed this action-packed multi-day adventure with my team of expert guides (and my own family many times!) to ensure you experience an authentic glimpse into another world. Here you will have time to unplug, unwind, feel energised and truly relax as you travel through the last great wilderness of northern Europe in a timeless, old school way…by dog team.
