Diani Beach camps - Olerai House
The House has a splendid pool set in amongst gnarled coral caves, and gives great views down across the lawn to the palm-fringed beach beyond. Originally built as a family home, the house was designed with the vision to have enough space for the owner’s children to have many friends over to stay.
The result is a property that works for young and old alike, with tremendous character and an almost Thunderbird Tracy Island feel to the pool and caves.
Being on the edge of the Indian Ocean and with Diani Beach just a few miles to the north, water sports are the name of the game here. This part of Kenya’s coast is a favourite spot for wind and kite surfing, owing to the more or less constant trade winds.
They’re just right to give you a nice cooling breeze when sunbathing whilst being strong enough to provide the right lift to keep you cruising on your board.
Deep sea fishing is another favourite of the marine activities, the best spot being a 45 minute drive to the Shimoni Waters and the Pemba Channel.
If staying on land is more your thing, there’s an 18-hole golf course a 10 minute drive away or alternatively the Shimba Hills National Park and Mwalange Elephant Reserve are only a half hour drive. Other activities at the house include table tennis, darts, board games and snorkelling equipment.
Incl. FB, soft drinks, selected beers, wines and spirits and Diani airstrip transfers. Excl. Champagne and premium spirits, activities and excursions off the property, Mombasa airport transfers
