Iguazú Falls
At the northern edge of Argentina’s Misiones province, the subtropical forest gives way to one of the most powerful and captivating natural spectacles on the continent. Iguazú Falls is not just one waterfall, but a vast system of cascades — over 250 individual falls spanning nearly 3km — surrounded by dense rainforest, red earth, and the rising call of howler monkeys.
This isn’t a place to rush through. The best experiences here come quietly: early morning light rising through the spray, butterflies settling on your boots, the weight of humidity and birdsong. On the Argentine side, trails and catwalks get you up close — often face-to-face with the falls themselves. On the Brazilian side, you step back for the panoramic view. Taken together, it’s a deeply immersive experience — not just a photo stop, but a world of its own.
Iguazú is well suited to the start or end of a broader journey through Argentina or neighbouring Brazil. It works particularly well as a soft landing or a final exhale — a few unhurried days to experience something elemental.

Learn MoreBest Time To Visit Iguazú Falls
Iguazú can be visited year-round, with each season offering something slightly different.
April to September brings cooler, drier weather and clearer views — ideal for walking the trails and escaping the height of the heat. October to March is warmer, wetter, and more humid, with fuller waterfalls and lusher forest — though you may need to duck a passing tropical downpour.
Regardless of the season, early morning and late afternoon tend to be the quietest times — when both the light and the atmosphere are at their best.
