Begin in Fez with four days exploring this ancient mediaeval city, with its miles of alleys and lanes, 9th century tannery and university. This is a city where nothing seems to have changed for centuries. During your time here, explore the city with a local guide who can show you the many sights including the medina, the tanneries, traditional pottery factories as well as the Dar Batha Museum and mosques.

The area is famous for its huge palm oases, hundreds of kasbahs, and fortified red mud villages where the Draa River gives way to the deep desert.
Day three gives you the opportunity to explore the vast sand dunes. Heading towards the Erg Chigaga and Erg Abidlya dunes, you’ll enjoy a spectacular off-road drive crossing the rough desert pistes to reach Morocco’s most dramatic desert scenery. On arrival at Erg Mhazil, you’ll set off on an unforgettable 3-hour walk where you can genuinely experience the majesty of the Sahara desert with its endless sand dunes and breathtaking views.
Late in the afternoon, you’ll climb one of the big dunes to watch the sunset and the sand changing colour as night falls. And in the evening, sit around the fire beside your mobile tented camp in the middle of Erg Mhazil, and admire the star-filled sky to discover constellations.
