Torres Del Paine
A visit to Chile would generally not be considered complete without a visit to the iconically Patagonian Torres del Paine National Park, one of Latin America’s most famous Parks and most spectacular of places to include on an itinerary! As such it is one of the busier places to visit but there is still an incredible wild ruggedness to the park with the icing on the cake being the iconic towers (Las Torres) surrounded by the jagged, twisting horns (Los Cuernos). Around these you will find epic glaciers, emerald lakes, waterfalls, gushing rivers, temperate forests and grasslands. You will also find old estancias and traditional sheep farms. It is possible to explore the park by vehicle, horseback, boat and mountain bike but hiking is the best way to get off the beaten track, with the four day W trek being particularly spectacular. The park is home to guanacos, Andean deer, Foxes, Condors and, in recent years it hasn’t been at all unusual for visitors to see puma.
Being one of the most popular places in Chile to visit, Torres del Paine has some of the country’s best accommodation options. Most of the better lodges offer all inclusive options with a selection of small group excursions and hikes (6-8 people) and all meals and drinks included.

Best Time To Visit Torres del Paine
The weather in Torres del Paine is famously unpredictable and you can truly encounter four seasons in one day at any time of year. The warmer months are classically November through to March but the shoulder months of October and April/May can also be lovely times to visit Torres del Paine – the temperatures might not be as warm but you can still get some beautiful clear skies and there are far fewer tourists. The glorious array of autumn colours over the whole region makes April a particularly nice month to travel to this park. Although many of the hotels are closed between June and September, if you don’t mind the cold, some say that this is the best time to visit Torres del Paine with little wind, less rain and very few visitors.
