Gangtey (Phobjikha) camps - Dewachen
Situated in the Phobjikha valley Dewachen is located just high enough up the hillside to afford views of the surrounding scenery. The 16 rooms are traditionally decorated and have an en-suite shower room . There’s a small wood-burning stove, yak wool comforters on the bed and hot water bottles to keep you warm at night. The large dining room, with a stove at its centre, has a panoramic view of the valley. Power is supplied by a combination of solar panels, generator and occasional electricity so be prepared, keep your torch handy, and enjoy dining by candle-light. From the lodge it's just a few minutes walk to the marshes where the rare black-necked cranes spend the winter.
