Odzala NP camps - Mboko Camp
Getting out on the Lekoli River is an absolute highlight at Mboko
Mboko Camp's twelve rooms are set above a small tributary of the nearby Lekoli River while the main mess area overlooks a large savannah-like plain. Game-viewing from camp is often excellent with Forest Elephant, Spotted Hyena (currently Odzala's alpha predator) and Forest Buffalo all regularly spotted from the large deck.
Mboko is the largest of Odzala's Camps and can feel somewhat large and utilitarian although the guest rooms are comfortable and equipped. Forest walks are possible from the camp but the real highlight is getting out on to the Lekoli River - itself a tributary of the mighty Congo - by boat or canoe. Here you regularly encounter a myriad of the rainforest's colourful bird life as well as good selection of primates (which tend to be much harder to see when you are on foot) and both Forest Elephant and Forest Buffalo.
