Odzala NP camps - Ngaga Camp
Ngaga Camp is the base for Gorilla trekking in Odzala
Ngaga is situated within the overlapping home ranges of several groups of western lowland gorillas and the prime reason for being here is the excellent Gorilla trekking experience. Three habituated families (two of which can be visited) live within walking distance of the camp and the researchers are based here.
Sited in the Ndhezi forest adjacent to the western boundary of Odzala National Park, the six rooms are spread out in a glade of primary forest above the Ngaga stream while the mess area is set higher up the hill with views across the treetops. The camp is an extremely comfortable place to relax while you are not out looking for, or at, Gorillas - there is always the chance of picking up some of the forest birds from your verandah and the rooms are well appointed with en-suite facilities, hot showrs and charging stations.
An added bonus of Ngaga is the ability to take a night-walk and encounter some of the specials that it would be almost impossible to see during the day such as the enigmatic Potto, Tree Civet and Lord Derby's Anomalure.
