About Riding Safaris in South Africa
On the back of a sure footed, comfortable and beautiful horse is one of the best ways to experience the sights, sounds and scenery of South Africa.
South Africa is one of the most geographically diverse African countries. It has some of the World’s most breath-taking terrain, lush green forests, stunning mountain ranges, subtropical bushveld woodland, savanna grasslands and arid dry desert. Its coastline is wild and rugged with stunning beaches. While along its shoreline swim dolphins, whales, sharks, penguins and seals. It has one of the largest migrations on the planet – the annual sardine run. Flourishing vineyards, some over 300 years old, line the valleys of the Cape Peninsula and contribute significantly to the country’s annual wine production.
Its range of animals and geography makes riding in South Africa available to everyone no matter their ability or age.
South Africa shares common boundaries with Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Swaziland and the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho which is landlocked by South African territory in the South East. It has over 290 conservation parks and is home to nearly 300 mammal, 850 bird and a staggering 8,000 plant species.
