Uganda, where the eastern savannah meets the central African rainforest creating one of the most biodiverse regions in the world and coupled with it sitting astride the equator Uganda enjoys a pleasant tropical climate with little change in temperature throughout the year. There is wide regional variation in rainfall patters - in western Uganda and around Lake Victoria it can rain at almost any time of year, as a rough guide the wettest months are April to May and October through November.
Uganda is one of three locations in central Africa where you can spend time trekking the rainforest in search of our primate cousins, the gorilla and chimpanzee. Obviously, it can be pretty wet in the rainforests of Uganda, so we would recommend the dryer months of December to February or June to September. Uganda is alone in being able to offer the combination of gorilla and chimpanzee trekking with a first-class classic safari experince. Again the best game spotting is during the dryer months of December to February or June to September. Uganda is outstanding for birding all year round.
