Etosha camps - Little Ongava
The Ongava Game Reserve on the southern boundary of Etosha National Park is an exclusive patch with just four camps in 30,000ha of pristine bush. 340 species of bird have been counted here, including 10 of Namibia’s 14 endemic species. Add to that the opportunity to see Hartmann’s mountain zebra, red hartebeest, eland, endemic black-faced impala, rhino and lion plus a host of others and there are plenty of reasons to spend a good few days here. The Reserve is well placed to make use of the western area of Etosha, which is restricted for guided-only game viewing, unlike the eastern side where self-drive safaris are the norm.
Little Ongava is properly exclusive with only three impressive suites, each with private plunge pool, bath with a lovely view out over the bush, and deck or ‘sala’. The three suites share a very comfortable and beautifully equipped lounge and dining area. It’s the perfect place for a group of friends or family who would like to just hole-up together and enjoy a plush safari experience.
Game drives, walks and trips to the hides take place on the private Reserve and if you want to venture further afield, you can pop into Etosha for game drives too.
